Fiber Artist

About the Artist
Val Halvorson started her career as a fiber artist unexpectedly. She was working as a Special Investigator with the FBI when she passed a van with "QUILTS" embossed on the license plate. Her memories of quilting with her mother came flooding back, and she headed straight for the fabric store to pick up the necessary supplies.
Since then, Val has attended workshops with world-renowned fiber artists, participated in numerous art shows, and created commissioned work being collected throughout the Midwest.
Her work features the highest quality fabrics available, including hand-made fabrics altered using dyes, paints, screen-prints, and stamps.
Most recently she has been working on commissioned pieces for public spaces, some of which can be seen at the new Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.
